My Story
Welcome to AH Midwifery!
My name is Áine and I am a self employed community midwife based in Co. Kildare. After completing a B.Sc in midwifery in 2013, I have spent time working in the UK, UAE and here in Ireland. I have experience ranging from care during pregnancy, labour, birth and the immediate postnatal period. I have been working in the HSE Home Birth Service since 2018, as well as working as a hospital community midwife since 2024.
Since giving birth to my beautiful daughter in 2024, the entire experience of pregnancy, birth and parenting has really opened my eyes to what is really important, the choices available for women in the maternity services and having their voice heard. Being a part of your care plan and options is incredibly important and will be the difference in having the most fulfilling and life changing experience.

Home Birth
Home birth can be a great option for low risk women, an acceptable and safe alternative to a hospital birth. Please get in touch for further information if you are considering a home birth.

Reflexology in pregnancy
Reflexology is a complementary therapy which uses your feet as a map to the rest of your body. By stimulating various corresponding areas of the feet, encourages the body to self heal. A relaxing and calming therapy, it may help for a range of ailments in pregnancy, as well as preparing the body for labour.
Baby Massage
Baby massage is a beautiful way to bond with your baby, learning how to gently massage your baby from birth until pre-crawling. Baby massage can improve your baby's sleep, ease symptoms like trapped wind and constipation and so much more.
